About Us

Welcome to The Sun Catcher Bed and Breakfast. We would like to invite you to come and relax with us in our home. We are located in the picturesque Struisbaai, a coastal settlement in the Overberg region of South Africa’s Western Province.

The name “Sun Catcher” was chosen by the owners, Carol and Gert, because virtually every room gets the sun for most part of the day from various angles.

The house also has beautiful sea views from the front. From this viewpoint, you can watch ships passing by, or whales doing their trek to De Hoop nature Marine Reserve for their annual calving. Please bring your binoculars along.

Sun Catcher amenities for our guests are:

Two comfortable upstairs rooms with en-suite bathrooms, queen size beds, coffee station, bar fridge, free wifi and TV (dstv compact).

Outside smoking area with a view of the protected flora/green area.

We serve a full thee course breakfast every morning, after your good nights rest.

The friendly hosts throughout your stay are Carol (owner), Angelique and Annelisha.

Sun Catcher’s Vision

Our vision is to create a “feeling at home” focused environment, for our guests to ensure that they have a great experience from arrival to departure.

To this end, we provide a friendly atmosphere and relaxed environment to ensure our guests will feel welcomed and important.

We want to provide the perfect break away for Guests so that they want to come back again by maintaining a clean, cozy and friendly experience from arrival to departure. As responsible hosts, we strive to ensure our guests visiting Struisbaai make the most of their stay.

We go the extra mile to be as helpful as possible to each guest.

It is important to us that they get a real sense of Western Cape hospitality, warmth and generosity.

We promote with enthusiasm our wonderful environment and share examples of some of our own favourite places that make Struisbaai and the Overberg our home.

The Sun Catcher team strives to operate our accommodation in a sustainable manner. As such, we ensure that natural resources (energy and water) are used responsibly. In our effort towards community well-being we support locally owned businesses as often as possible.
